MOON TIME

The Moon Time is a sacred time for women. When we lived in Nature, we cycled with the Moon and the tides. Blood that did not flow back to the Mother Earth remained inside the body to aid in the magic of Creation.

How, then did such an important part of our being become a part of the Consume-and-Dispose-Society?

An average woman throws away 250 to 300 pounds of tampons, pads and applicators in her lifetime.

The great majority of these end up in landfills, or as something the sewage treatment plants must deal with.

I'd like to tell you about the KEEPER!

THE KEEPER® is made from the same soft, natural gum rubber used to make baby bottle nipples.

It was first developed in the 1930s. Why it faded out in the oncoming decades is probably due to the same reason that streetcars were discontinued in major cities (ie. bought up by car companies), or why patents for gas-free automobiles are bought up and buried... But, they are here now, and I for one, am thrilled that i do not have to purchase another 'menstrual product' for at least a decade. With proper care (for instance, not using harsh chemicals to wash it), one cup should last up to 10 years!

To supplement the Keeper, i suggest looking at various makers of 'cloth pads', or make your own! While you think it may be a gross thing to deal with your own blood, these pads will hold easily 3-4 times the blood that disposable pads will, protecting you from embarrassing situations. They are easy to deal with...simply soak them in cold water overnight before tossing them in the washing machine (again, cold water). And...do your plants a favour, ... give them the blood water from the soaking. You can't get better fertilizer than that!

Many Health Food Stores will carry them, or do a Google Search on 'cloth menstrual pads' to find someone in your area.

to your health, and the health of Mother Earth,
sincerely,
Darlene
